People’s Resource Center’s Annual Stuff-A-Truck Food Drive Takes Place October 26
Non-perishable food also accepted at Studio Movie Grill and Wheaton Public Library

For the ninth year in a row, People’s Resource Center (PRC) presents its annual Stuff-A-Truck food drive on Friday, October 26. The event coincides with Make a Difference Day, the largest community service event in the nation, Saturday, October 27.
The community is encouraged to bring non-perishable food items – no glass containers, please – to PRC Wheaton, 201 S. Naperville Road, between 8am and 4pm on Friday, October 26. PRC employees and volunteers spend the day picking up food from participating Wheaton schools and “stuffing a truck” with their donations.
A fun way to get involved is by bringing “Food for Films” donations to Studio Movie Grill, 301 Rice Lake Square in Wheaton on Thursday, October 11th or October 25th. Those who donate food for PRC will be able to see a free movie of their choice that day.
On Make a Difference Day, Saturday, October 27, the Wheaton Public Library, 225 North Cross Street, offers “Food for Fines”. Bring food for PRC to the library that day and get up to $5 off of outstanding book fines.
PRC hopes to collect 40,000 pounds of food, which will keep its Food Pantry stocked for the busy month of November.

“This will be my first year participating in Stuff-A-Truck,” said PRC Food Director Ken Madden. “This food drive is so important in helping provide needed food to families in our community.  Thank you to the Wheaton community for participating in the food drive and helping PRC in its mission to end food insecurity.”

People’s Resource Center wishes to thank Studio Movie Grill, the Wheaton Public Library and the community for its support of Stuff-A-Truck. Over 3,000 families visit the PRC Food Pantry each month and donations will “make a difference” in the lives of hungry DuPage County neighbors.
