All business preofessionals who are starting their careeersare encouraged to attend any of the monthly Young Professional Group meetings - and then watch them grow! Meetings are on the 1st Thursday of the month, 5:30 – 7:00 pm.

While the meeting is casual, the Young Professionals are serious about developing their professional network and skills.

Aug 7    Concert on the Park: Zydeco Voodoo
It's Mardi Gras in August! Zydeco Voodoo plays a unique blend of traditional New Orleans music and popular rock and blues songs adapted to the Zydeco style.

Concerts are held outdoors on the West Plaza. In the event of rain, concerts will be held inside the library. Limited seating provided, please feel free to bring your own blankets or chairs.

Join us every 3rd Thursday at the Mason's building downtown Wheaton (120 W. Wesley) to learn advanced networking tactics, while Job Seekers find leads, Job Givers (employers) share jobs, and everyone builds their network for current, and future career advancement.

This monthly networking group is free to attend, and relevant for people from all industries and job types.

The typical business professional spends a large amount of their time writing emails, proposals, performance reviews, procedures, recommendations, reports, and other communications. The importance of effective writing in the modern world of e-business continues to grow, yet surprisingly few seek to improve their business writing skills.
 
The objective of this workshop is to be able to immediately apply the newly obtained skills to the job. The workshop includes exercises, strategies, and case studies for the participants to learn and solve and then apply to their own situations. It is designed to improve the participants' skills in business writing--memos, reports, letters, and proposals. Participants learn how to avoid common errors, conceptualize ideas, develop successful first-drafts, edit letters, and communicate effectively and efficiently.
