"Beyond Your Profile: How to Generate More Leads and Sales from LinkedIn"
With Brian Basilico "The Bacon Guy"

Brian Basilico was one of the first 1000 people on LinkedIn back in 2004. He specializes in teaching entrepreneurs and corporate sales teams how to navigate and optimize LinkedIn for their business.

In this presentation... You will learn some of the basics of using LinkedIn to promote and grow your business. More importantly, you will learn some “Whyʼs” and “How Toʼs” that will help you better understand the biz behind the buzz!
Sometimes itʼs easier to know what questions to ask, than to try to find answers to questions you donʼt have... but at least you will know what questions to ask?

'Who is on LinkedIn and how can I capitalize on it?ʼ
ʻAre people really making money?ʼ
ʻNone of my customers are using this! Are you sure who is and who is not?ʼ
ʻI canʼt afford to spend more time or money on marketing?'

In this fast-moving digital economy - now is the time to market harder and smarter than your competition.

You will learn some actionable techniques (Brian likes to call $100 ideas) that are sustainable, repeatable, and profitable for your business. This presentation will help you get noticed, become memorable and top of mind, and grow your brand and business through tested and proven face-to-face and social networking techniques.

We will also get a short presentation on "SCORE" and what it can do for your business.

Our Luncheon Menu includes:

Salad (mixed greens, strawberry, almonds, feta cheese with house white balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
Your option of beef tenderloin with horseradish cream sauce
With side of green bean almondine and mashed potatoes

Apr 27    Free Cyber Security Workshop
Free Cyber Security Workshop
College of DuPage
Homeland Security Training Institute
Friday, April 27th 2018

To register: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hsti-live-cyber-security-registration-43851399717

We all know cybersecurity is an ongoing threat and one that could bring us all to our knees if institutions, our companies, or we become a victim. Some individuals know the threats but do not know exactly what, when, or how to protect themselves. Other professions are dealing with cyber threats or preparing for them on a daily basis and could benefit from hearing first hand from leaders in the industry as they share case studies and best practices.

On Friday, April 27th we will have four subject matter experts put it all in perspective by explaining it in simple terms. They will discuss the numerous challenges it poses to law enforcement, provide case studies, discuss cyber resiliency, and summarize the international cybersecurity threat landscape by reviewing the findings from the Microsoft Intelligence Report, Volume 23, which is scheduled to be released to the public on March 15, 2018. We will look at how Microsoft assisted in the takedown of the Gamarue botnet, discuss what organizations can do to avoid being an "easy mark" and provide an update on the latest attack trends and defenses.

Helping your organization protect itself from Cyber Security threats can seem daunting for those not immersed in it every day. E-crime actors, nation states and cyber activists use advanced tools and tradecraft to violate organization’s cyber assets every day across the world using tools like Ransomware and other malicious software. They hide in the shadows of the dark web where they trade in companies and individual’s intellectual property, personal information and secrets. This session will dive below the surface of the dark web and explore how cyber criminals succeed and some of the actions you can take to defend against them.

This event is free and is funded by a Resource for Excellence Grant provided by the College of DuPage Foundation. Participants can attend the event live at the College of DuPage campus in Glen Ellyn, IL at the SSG Robert Miller Homeland Security Education Center or view the webinar online. Seats in the Homeland Security Education Center are limited for this workshop, so if you plan on attending, register early. Comments and questions can be emailed in during the broadcast, so that those that are watching remotely can play an interactive role in the workshop.
