Nov 4    Community Concert - An Afternoon of French Music - 4PM on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at First Presbyterian, Wheaton

Please join us for the second installment of our Community Concert Series at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton at 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 4, 2018. This presentation is a wonderful one-hour program of French music featuring the duo of flutist Joanne Diebold and pianist Paul Burgess. Many of the mechanical advancements of the modern-day flute were made by French flute makers. As a result, French composers were excited to explore the wild virtuosity of flute playing that came with these advanced instruments. In contrast, we still find the sublety of pure tone and and gorgeous melodies in all of these pieces. From the calm music of Debussy's Clair de lune to the wild passion of Franck's Sonata, this program will explore the musical and technical talents of both flutist and pianist.

Nov 14 - Nov 30    Wheaton G'Living Tree ONLINE Tickets

Tickets are available online through 12:00 pm on November 30, 2018.
On December 1st, during the annual Christmas Festival at Martin Memorial Plaza, a single winning raffle ticket will be pulled and one lucky winner will receive ALL the ornaments on the G’Living Wheaton Tree (Giving Tree + Living Wheaton). But the G’Living Wheaton Tree is no ordinary tree filled with ordinary ornaments…

Each ornament on the G’Living Wheaton Tree will represent a gift card, gift certificate or service donated by a Wheaton-based business. It will become one of the most expensive trees our community has ever seen, and one lucky person will be able to win ALL the ornaments for theirself.

We are proud to announce we have created this holiday-themed fundraiser to support two local nonprofits that are close to our community’s heart— Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans and People’s Resource Center. Proceeds of the raffle tickets will be donated to these two nonprofits as well as the Downtown Wheaton Association.

Starting November 3rd, during the 10th Annual Chili Cook-Off, our community will be able to purchase raffle tickets. Tickets also will be available for purchase at the Downtown Wheaton Association office or at a participating ticket-selling business around town throughout November. People also will be able to purchase raffle tickets at the annual Christmas Festival at Martin Memorial Plaza until 5 pm on December 1. At 7 pm, a single name will be pulled and the winner will be revealed. PLEASE NOTE: The winner MUST be present to receive the prize.

We will be continuously updating this event page with the names of the businesses on the tree and its value.
