NEW VISUAL REHABILITATION TECHNOLOGY LAUNCH
Date: March 13, 2018
Time: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Event Description
Travanse Living at Wheaton is teaming up with Wheaton-based nonprofit Spectrios Institute for Low Vision and technology company OrCam to host the Midwest product launch of the OrCam MyEye 2.0, an upgraded version of an artificial vision device designed for blind and partially sighted people. Residents, family members and visitors will be able to hear presentations of how the MyEye 2.0 device uses a lightweight smart camera to instantly read text out loud from any surface as well as recognize faces, products and money notes in real time. About the size of a finger, the battery-powered device snaps onto any eyeglass frame magnetically, and unlike the previous model, the MyEye 2.0 is totally wireless.
