2017 CHRISTMAS ART WALK™ TO FEATURE LOCAL WHEATON ARTISTS
Downtown Wheaton Shops to Host “A Gift to Remember”
The Jonahre Foundation presents “A Gift to Remember™” Christmas Art Walk in Wheaton, Illinois. Twelve artists have been commissioned to create a truly international reflection of the Christmas story on December 12-24, 2017.
Visitors are invited to EXPLORE, DISCOVER and WALK through twelve stores throughout downtown Wheaton following a map that will lead them each step of the way. Each piece helps tell the Biblical story of the birth of Jesus Christ and inspires viewers to remember the true Christmas “Gift to Remember.”
On Saturday, December 16 several special events will take place. Many of the artists will be in the stores to share their inspiration for their pieces in person. An outdoor live nativity play with actors and animals will be performed at Carlson's Hardware Store every 30 minutes on from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. And a kids’ nativity-themed Make & Take can be completed at MOORE Toys & Gadgets from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Jonahre Foundation seeks to draw all people to the unity found only in Jesus. The Christmas Walk is being supported by more than 20 area congregations. People from the community are encouraged to attend their local churches for Christmas services.
